The main causes of forest degradation and deforestation in Kyrgyzstan

This collection was prepared on the basis of materials of national open meeting on underlying causes of deforestation and forest degradation held on 20-21 October 2000 in Bishkek. This meeting was held under the auspices and on the initiative of the Secretariat of the Global Initiative to address the underlying causes of deforestation and was organized by the Krasnoyarsk Regional public Ecological movement "Friends of the Siberian Forests" (Russia) and BIOM (Kyrgyzstan).
